St Joseph's Giving Day 2024

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that St Joseph's recent Giving Day exceeded all expectations in raising £20,066 including Gift Aid for the It Takes A Village Fund!

Thanks to the enormous generosity and support from parents and the wider community, they beat their initial target of raising £5,000 during the second day, which prompted Executive Headteacher, Mrs Wyatt to increase the target to £10,000 for the 36-hour event. They were amazed when they exceeded their second target and finished with over £14,000 in donations by the end of the event.

The funds raised as a community will allow the school to invest in the expensive maintenance requirements that their stunning Grade 2 listed building needs, preserving the rich heritage of architecture throughout Cadogan Street that dates back centuries, and continuing to provide a warm and functional learning environment for St Joseph's pupils.

The additional funds will go towards providing pupils with resources and opportunities that will enrich their educational experience, continuing the school's legacy of a first-class Catholic education for current pupils and those who join in the future. This is all thanks to you, our community.

The enthusiastic response to the Giving Day exceeded all expectations, with a 77% participation rate from across the school community. Additionally, following the campaign push, some parents have committed to making monthly pledges, which are transformative for the school.

We are so thankful to have such a committed community who continue to show so much support for St Joseph's and are incredibly grateful for everyone who got involved in our Giving Day, whether donating directly to the Fund or spreading awareness about the event.

Everyone at St Joseph's thoroughly enjoyed the activities and challenges over the course of Giving Day. Day 2 of Giving Day coincided with St Joseph’s Day, so the class challenges reflected St Joseph’s own values of loyalty, strength of character and teamwork. These ranged from a religious words themed Inspiring Spelling Bee organised by Year 6 pupils to a Good Example Litter Picking

Plus, in true St Joseph's style, they challenged themselves one step further with one final challenge where Head of School, Mr Stacey and Head Prefects, Alexandra and Enrique, walked from the school to Westminster Cathedral to have a private meeting with His Eminence, Cardinal Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster to pray for the St Joseph’s community in a very special ending to their Giving Day and to celebrate the Feast of St Joseph.

Once again, we would like to thank the staff at St Joseph’s who made this such a special event for our pupils and our community who have shown so much support and made it possible.

From all of us at St Joseph's and the Saint John Southworth Catholic Academy Trust: thank you so very much.
