Our First SJSCAT Chess Competition
Published Thursday 2 January 2025
At the end of last term, pupils from across the Saint John Southworth Catholic Academy Trust had great fun at our first Inter School Chess Competition organised by Mr Stacey, Head of School at St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Chelsea.
It was fantastic to see pupils from Years 3-6 putting their chess knowledge to the test and learning new skills in a relaxed but slightly competitive environment.
The event saw a total of 37 games played, with St Joseph’s emerging victorious with a score of 24 to St Augustine’s 13. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and camaraderie as pupils from both schools showcased their strategic thinking and sportsmanship.
Thank you to Mr Stacey for organising this competition and well done to all the pupils who took part. We look forward to more chess matches in the future between schools in the Saint John Southworth Catholic Academy Trust.
