Malakai Bayoh's album 'Golden' Tops Amazon Music Charts
Congratulations to Malakai Bayoh on the success of his debut album 'Golden'.
The album went straight to Number 1 on the Amazon Best Sellers List in Classical Music when it was released last Friday. Following his appearance on BBC Breakfast on Monday, the CD became the Number 1 selling album on Amazon in CDs & Vinyl!
Almost a week later, it remains in the top 20 and is still topping the list in Classical Music as well as Opera & Vocal Music. Not only that, but it has been named Classical FM's album of the week, with Alexander Armstrong playing a track from the album each morning on his radio show.
The album's first track is Andrew Lloyd Webber's Pie Jesu, which Malakai sang in his audition for Britain's Got Talent earlier this year. Many of the tracks on the album feature Cardinal Vaughan's Schola Cantorum and were conducted by Mr Price, Director of Music. The album also includes a new arrangement of Sir Karl Jenkins' Benedictus, which the composer created specially for Malakai. Sir Karl conducts this track on the album.
